The same carpet, photographed before and after one truck-mounted clean.
In Reisterstown, carpet cleaning from Xtreme Cleans means hot water extraction powered by a truck-mounted unit parked outside, applied to wall-to-wall carpet and stairs. Each visit follows 4 steps: inspect, pre-treat and brush, extract, then groom, deodorize and dry.
The process is often called steam cleaning, though the work is done by hot water and suction. Solution is pushed into the pile and pulled back out in the same pass, carrying the loosened soil with it, while the machine itself stays in the van outside.
Reisterstown's single-family homes and townhomes from the 1950s–1980s tend to keep wall-to-wall carpet in bedrooms, family rooms and on stair runs, which is where most visits start. Cleaning products are Green Seal GS-37 certified, an outside standard covering toxicity and volatile organic compounds. Nylon, polyester, olefin and berber loop are cleaned in one visit, and the hot water extraction method is explained step by step.
Carpet cleaning in Reisterstown costs $199 for 3 areas with Xtreme Cleans, the same price as everywhere else in Baltimore County. It covers pre-treatment, brush agitation, truck-mounted extraction, deodorizer and drying; stairs and pet-urine treatment are quoted separately.

Where pets have soaked the carpet, the treatment is Bio Release from Bridgepoint Systems, an enzyme and bacterial digester, quoted as its own line before the visit. There is no deposit, and nothing is added on the day without your agreement.
The quote is built from the number of areas, never from square footage. A sofa or sectional can be added at the per-piece rates on upholstery cleaning in Reisterstown; the full carpet cleaning price breakdown explains the rest.
Expect 2 to 4 hours of drying in Reisterstown after truck-mounted extraction by Xtreme Cleans. Rental and portable machines recover less of their own water, which is why they commonly leave carpet damp for 6 to 12 hours.
A typical 3-area visit takes 1 to 2 hours on site, longer with more areas or heavier soil, and arrival is set as a time window rather than an open day. Humid Maryland summers slow evaporation, so running central air or ceiling fans after the visit shortens the wait; Maryland carpet drying times covers a humid month in detail. Why a rental machine leaves more water behind is compared in professional versus rental carpet cleaning.

Reisterstown's housing mix of single-family homes and townhomes puts most carpet in bedrooms and on stairs, where soil compacts along the same paths every day. Pollen in spring, damp in a humid summer and road salt from November on all end up in the pile.

“Xavier was knowledgeable and friendly. He did a great job. For context, my carpet is old & worn. It needs to be replaced, but in this economy I am trying to put that off for a bit. Now, I can do that.”
